Sophie Moorman
Sophie is a Graduate Level Clinician pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Charleston Southern University. She obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology, with a minor in Child and Family Studies, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
In addition to her educational background, she has gleaned practical experience from her work in an inpatient atmosphere. Thus providing her with valuable intervention strategies when working with a wide range of mental health concerns. With this background, she has expertise with the child and adolescent population and is open to working with clients of all ages. While open to working with clients of all ages, she has a passion for supporting children and adolescents who are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral challenges.
Treatment Approach
Sophie believes that all clients deserve to be heard, treated equally, and empowered to start their own process of change. She aims to provide a therapeutic environment that focuses on clients strengths to support positive change. In doing so, she utilizes therapeutic interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) models, and may incorporate play-based interventions as developmentally appropriate to each client. Overall, her approach focuses on present and future goals, rather than dwelling on past issues.
