Liam Collins
Liam is a graduate clinician currently pursuing his master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Carson-Newman University. With a rich background as a secondary level teacher in his native Ireland and a PhD in Physical Sciences from University College Dublin, Liam brings a unique blend of professional and life experience to his practice.
As a dedicated and compassionate therapist, Liam is committed to supporting individuals on their journey towards mental well-being. He employs a holistic, person-centered approach, valuing the power of a therapeutic alliance built on trust, empathy, and understanding. Liam uses an integrative counseling strategy, incorporating evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness based practices, and Play Therapy. This tailored approach ensures that each client receives personalized care suited to their individual needs.
Liam enjoys working with clients across all ages and stages of life. As foster parent, Liam has a particular affinity for helping children and teenagers, but welcomes working with adults and couples. His areas of focus include depression, anxiety, gender and sexuality issues, life transitions, behavioral challenges, and improving communication and dynamics within relationships and families. Liam is committed to creating an inclusive, safe space, affirming LGBTQ individuals.
