Melissa Woodby
Melissa Woodby is a Board Certified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years experience in the mental health field. Melissa’s clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, individuals, families, and couples. She has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient community mental health, an addiction recovery residential program, a residential women’s program, a domestic violence shelter, within the court system, and in private practice. She received her bachelor’s of science in Family Studies from the University of Tennessee and her master’s of arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. Melissa is currently a AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate and accepting pre- and post-graduate supervisees seeking MFT licensure.
Treatment approach
Melissa is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing [EMDR] and uses this technique as a primary focus within her practice. In addition to EMDR, Melissa utilizes additional methodologies based on client need in her treatment approach with clients. She works with later adolescents and adults with various mental health and life issues. Melissa specializes in using EMDR to treat PTSD from various traumas. Additional areas of focus include depressive disorders, anxiety disorder, trauma disorders, and adjustment to life transitions and stressors.
